Writing: Examining small moments from an author and emulating their techniques, sound effects, dashes, dialogue, and stretching a moment

Science: Leaf Study

Social Studies: Timelines/U.S. symbols/Presidents

Mon 12th: Coat Drive begins (through Fri the 30th)
Thurs 15th: Picture Day retakes
Thurs 15th: PTA Exec Board Meeting, 7PM, Big School Library

Wednesday 21st: Thanksgiving recess (4 hour day)

Thursday 22nd and 23rd: Thanksgiving

*Please look for a note in your child's back pack this week in relation to our upcoming Book Share Day. We invite you to come the morning of November 5th and share a favorite childhood book!

 

Teacher's Corner

Just a note on the Halloween parade this year. Parents are invited to the parade behind South Mountain School, followed by a party inside the classroom. Children may NOT wear costumes to school, please send them in and teachers will help kids get dressed before the parade. Children will be dismissed from classrooms at the end of school.

Social Studies: Citizenship and Voting

*The spelling list titled ‘My home word list’ contains the words that your child will be tested on weekly. The weekly words in the planner are extended practice.

*Please check your child’s homework folder and sign the planner nightly. This planner is also a great way to communicate with the teacher as we check it each morning. Thank you!
